BSc Computer Science | Incoming MSc Distributed Systems & Cloud
Hi, I'm Ugo. I'm a Computer Science student who prefers to look "under the hood" rather than stopping at the surface. I am fascinated by operating system complexity, low-level memory management in C/C++, and Cloud infrastructure architecture. I find much more satisfaction in optimizing resources and making servers communicate efficiently than in designing an interface.
I am currently finishing my Bachelor's degree in Salerno and already have my bags packed for Milan, where I will begin my Master's in Distributed Systems. I experience programming not just as a profession, but as a continuous logical puzzle to be solved with patience and method. This is also why I am a member of the ACM: I believe in an approach to computer science that bridges the curiosity for scientific research with writing clean, robust, and well-documented code.
Current Operations
Cloud Certification Track: Intensive preparation for the CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer) industrial certification. Concurrently, I am deepening my knowledge of cloud-native architecture design on the AWS ecosystem ahead of starting my Master's in Distributed Systems.
Philosophy
"Simplicity is a great virtue but it requires hard work to achieve it and education to appreciate it."

HeavyRoute
A 3-tier modular monolith designed to digitize logistics workflows. Engineered the logic and data layers in Java/Spring Boot, with a security architecture based on JWT (Role-Based Access Control).
E.R.M.E.S.
Computer Vision R&D system for decoding human emotions. Developed CNN models with the integration of Explainable AI (Grad-CAM) to ensure decision transparency and anatomical consistency.
Interests & Activities
When I turn off my monitors, my brain struggles to fully stop. To disconnect without shutting down the logical engine, I rely on analytical and tactile puzzles. Whether it's solving a Rubik's Cube relying on muscle memory, completing a Sudoku, or getting lost in crossword definitions, I find relaxation in taking a chaotic situation and bringing it back to order through precise rules and patterns. It's my personal way of doing mental "debugging" away from the keyboard.
This same pursuit of complexity is reflected in what I play. I don't love overly guided or linear experiences; I am drawn to emergent sandboxes, those games where surviving means mastering ruthless and interconnected systems. Calculating the impact of every single resource in an apocalyptic world like "Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead", or trying to keep a reactor's power grid intact amidst total chaos in "Space Station 13", is incredibly fascinating to me. Managing an emergency in these simulations requires almost the same coldness, planning, and adaptability needed to keep a failing server infrastructure alive.
